2021 Auction & Raffle
The 2021 Auction Process
In 2021, the auction will be conducted online from June 1-6. Ten race slots will be auctioned for both the men’s and women’s races online. There will be no auction for junior race slots. There will also be no auction the night before the race (July 6 this year) due to COVID-19 mitigation.
- AUCTION #1 — Opens 9 a.m. on TUESDAY JUNE 1 and closes at 9 p.m. THURSDAY JUNE 3 (Alaska time). Five separate slots for the men and five for the women will be up for silent auction. The highest bid wins each auction.
- AUCTION #2 — Opens 9 a.m. on FRIDAY JUNE 4 and closes 9 p.m. SUNDAY JUNE 6 (Alaska time).
Five separate slots for the men and five for the women will be up for silent auction. The highest bid wins each auction.
Men’s auction slots begin at $500 and bids must be made in $100 increments.
Women’s auction slots begin at $300 and bids must be made in $50 increments.
Each individual can bid in multiple auctions but can only win one auction spot. If someone, we’ll call them Bidder #1, is the top bidder for more than one spot, they will win the auction that had their highest bid; for any other auction that Bidder #1 had the top bid, the next highest bidder in that auction will be declared the winner.
Payment by winners via credit card is required upon conclusion of the auction.
Auction winners gain Priority Registration Status. This means they can qualify for the following year if they meet standards such as the Top 50 Percent Age Group Rule (see 2020 Rule Changes on website).
The auction is open to anyone age 18 and older. Like all race rookies, auction winners who are first-time racers must sign a form verifying they have completed the entire course before race day before they can receive their bib.
